If you’re a regular reader of this site, you know I’m a huge fan of Denton’s Snarky Puppy. The awesome band has made 2 appearances here in Montreal and has rocked the fuck out of this city. Seriously. Their last gig was awesome, pumping, and had everyone in the place grooving.

Unfortunately, these awesome dudes ran into some trouble in Toronto. Their bus had broken down and during that time, some asshole hooligans broke into it and made way with over $6000 worth of gear. That.fucking.sucks.

If you’re in Texas, I urge you to head down to that show and party it up for this awesome cause. The FB event can be found here.

However, there’s people like me, stuck here in Montreal who can’t make it down there and help out with the cause. Sure, I can (and will) donate but I want to take it further.

See, Snarky Puppy is so insanely awesome that I really want these guys to be back on their feet and playing music and making their way back to Canada. I’m also hoping to redeem a little bit of Canadian trust cause it sucks that this had to happen to them here, in Canada.

Here’s what I’m thinking. I haven’t done TWITdrawings in a while and I’d like to get back into that groove so how about this – YOU make a donation and I make you a TWITDrawing. It’s a win-win situation. You get a drawing and Snarky Puppy gets a donation that’ll help ‘em get back to their music.

How do you go about this? It’s simple – just click on the DONATE button at the bottom of this page and put in any amount you want (really, anything!).

You can also leave special instructions if you want but I usually like to draw what comes to mind. If you want, you can tell me about yourself, what colors you like, how old you are, who your favorite Power Ranger is, etc.

The drawings will all be digital drawings, I’ll tweet about them once they’re done, and eventually I’ll post them on my blog for all to see.

If someone makes a high enough donation I’ll draw something on paper and send it via SNAIL MAIL so you can touch it, smell it, and lick it.

If you’ve never heard of Snarky Puppy or have seen them live, it’s hard to understand why I’d do something like this but then again it’s not about the band but rather that a group of individuals have had their creativity sabotaged by the actions of thieves. The way I see it, creativity is something to be nurtured so that it may grow. I support any creativity in any form and it’s sad to see when something sabotages that. However, it’s in moments like these where fans of creativity can band together and really do something about it.

I got the idea for the drawing from CitySpur’s twitter name and website. If you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s a city and a spur. YAY for being literal!

This one was fun to do. It was for Combatbabyy cause she was my 600th follower. For some reason she wanted me to draw a donut eating a panda **cough** I know, I thought it was weird too, at first, but I went ahead with it anyways. Is it wrong to say I really enjoyed drawing a donut that’s about to eat a baby panda? Either way, I know I ventured onto “SIMPSONS DID IT!! SIMPSONS DID IT!!” territory and it was fun.

The story behind this TWITDrawing goes like this: I was hungry and I was at the office. There’s no food at the office besides a container of mixed nuts that’s been there for a while. Wondering whether or not to eat those nuts I did what any normal person would do, I asked the Twitterati – “Do mixed nuts expire?”

Do you recognize this man? Well, it’s none other than Chris Brogan! One of the Twitter elite. This TWITDrawing was inspired by a tweet that Chris made expressing his discontent for having forgotten his pirate hat at the office. Chris, I know how you feel, I always forget my pirate hats at my office. Except, it’s not an office but a cardboard box, oh, and it’s not a pirate hat but rather a cowboy hat, oh, and it’s made out of old beer boxes.

I promptly took it upon myself to provide Chris with a pirate hat! ARR matey!! Captain Chris Brogan!!

This one was inspired by @lrntoswim (Elizabeth) and her awesome red shirt that reads, “Let’s Go Do Fun Stuff!” Like, HELLO?!? I am so down for that.

What’s more fun than building a snowman? Well, yes, roller coaster rides. Yes, yes, so is hang gliding. Bungee jumping, sky diving, playing Nintendo. OKAY! Fine, there’s a thousand things more fun than building a snowman. BUT!! What’s more awesomer than HOT CHOCOLATE and building a snowman? Well… yeah… all those things mentioned before. Whatever!

Elizabeth is an awesomely awesome person who’s also a good blipper (not as dirty as it sounds. Actually, it is. For those who don’t know a blip is a song tweet via blip.fm) so if you follow her on Twitter you’ll be awesomely surprised by her awesomeness. Also, her username is inspired by a TOOL song (extra points to the one who knows which song – and NO you can’t answer ELIZABETH!)!

I’m very excited about today’s TWITDRAWING blog post. Why? Cause I had A LOT of coffee and my heart won’t stop beating, causing me to twitch excitedly at every opportunity. Also, cause the drawings are fun… but more the coffee.

The first drawing belongs to @tall_geek who mentioned a spliff hogging rabbit. I understand what you’re going through @tall_geek, I also had a rabbit. However, being Italian, that rabbit ran away on the same day we ate rabbit for supper. I guess my rabbit ran away cause he sensed that we were eating rabbit that night. Oh, those bunnies, such a keen sense of smell.

Quick questsion: Are you unemployed? (if you’re on this site, there’s probably a good chance you are) then check out @tall-geek’s site, Job Shouts.

Next up. @Skytank – your neighborhood friendly tank (that’s if you’re neighborhood still exists after @skytank and Mr.Feathers go through a keg of beer on your front lawn and decide to shoot at squirrels. KA BLAM!). Also, I apologize in advance to @skytank if this here paragraph let’s him seem a lot more lenient towards neighborhoods, small animals, and even countries than he actually is. He’s not. Not when your best friend is Vladmir Putin. He’s so bad ass, he’s had sex with the Party Bus and never called her/it back the next day. Below is an artistic depiction.

And finally, it seems another artist on Twitter has caught the TwitDrawing bug and I couldn’t be more excited. Or is that the coffee? No no no, it’s actual excitement. YES!

@sknygrydg07 from Freshly Gound Productions has started drawing for her Twitter followers and I happened to be on the receiving end of those drawings…. TWICE!

The first is drawing is of this adorable little bunny (I can’t seem to shake the bunnies). @sknygrydg07 captured perfectly what I picture in my head when I send someone a TwitDrawing. I picture them hugging their computer screen and for a split second mistaking the warmth from their screen as a hug from me. Except for @SkyTank, no no no, no hugs for @Skytank cause I’m too busy… blowing up… buildings… and stuff.

Aww… I want to hug this rabbit while he hugs his drawing (the drawing being obviously of another rabbit hugging a drawing).

The next drawing comes with a warning. These are not real NERDS. They are only drawn. Do not lick your computer screen. I already tried, it doesn’t taste as good as nerds. It tastes like fingerprints and meningitis.

Hello my readers. Welcome to another wacky round of Twitdrawings. In this episode, what makes a seagull fall in love with a frog? and Yoshi… grunting.

@ClassyJulieO inspired this drawing when she tweeted about BUYING a Linkin’ Park song. One hopes @ClassyJulieO was beyond drunk, especially since she’s considering BUYING a song by Linkin’ Park. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Linkin’ Park…. oh no.. wait.. I do… they suck. But to each their own, right? 

The next TwitDrawing was for @kurukuruyu ( I hope I spelled that right ) for being my 300th follower. 

The drawing is inspired by one of @kurukuruyu’s tweets expressing her undying love for History class. One can’t really tell whether @kurukuruyu was being sarcastic or not. The key to unlocking the mystery is in deciphering @kurukuruyu’s button mashing at the beginning of her tweet. Is this a sarcastic button mashing? is it an excited button mashing, whereas @kurukuruyu’s excitement for history class cannot be contained. In either case, it does resemble the sound Yoshi makes when he jumps in the air.

This twitdrawing was drawn for @AnitaKnight – surely we can all relate to those annoying CATCHPAs (those weird letters and numbers you have to enter every time you post too many comments on YouTube) – I think I once ran into a CATCHPA that threatened to kill my dog if I didn’t get it right.
